A message from the winner :

Hello B.Tech Students,

I am so thankful to be trusted with this position over the next year. I want to thank everyone that participated in the election, and I look forward to meeting you all over the coming months during your interview (if your joining a council or exec role, applications open until Wednesday November 20th), at events, meetings, or just around campus. I can’t wait to meet the incoming team, there is so much potential for us to fulfil this year!

Reminder to check your school emails tomorrow to vote for your BTA President for 2025!! 💜

The presidential debate between our presidential candidates will be this Thursday at 11:30am at Hatch H205 and on Zoom. Come with your questions and comments and ask away to Olivia and Quinn!

It’s campaign week for the 2025 BTA President👀🥳 Our second candidate is Quinn!!

Quinn’s campaign points :

1. Transparency: The BTA’s main stakeholders are the B.Tech students. I believe that we should maintain transparency with the students. This includes bringing back Town Hall meetings which is a meeting open to all students where Executives of the council present summaries of what they did on the council. Which leads into the second culture I want to promote:

2. Accountability: The BTA has many roles throughout it, and each role baring responsibility. The BTA needs to create an atmosphere of accountability for it’s council and exec’s to attend events, meetings, and participate in sub-committees. It is a privilege to get to serve the community as a general council member or executive on the BTA. BTA members should be held accountable for their role as a leader in the B.Tech community.

3. Empowerment Structure: As the leader of the BTA I would want to promote a Servant Leadership Structure. A typical Top Down Leadership structure would put the B.Tech President at the top and underneath are the Execs, Council, and General Members (all B.Tech students). The type of leadership I was taught growing up was Bottom Up leadership which instead of the President having control over the BTA, it instead has the President on the bottom lifting the Council, General members and Executives’ ideas.

Voting for the 2025 BTA President opens November 16 to November 17.

Olivia’s campaign points :

• More collaborative and exciting events by hosting more events like karaoke night, etc.

• Competitions or fun learning events where students can practice coding or design software’s. A way for students to enjoy practicing using these softwares with a lighthearted or competitive atmosphere.

• Offering educational resources and hosting help nights for upper years as well.

Voting for the 2025 BTA President will open from November 16 to November 17.

All positions on the council are available to apply to including VP positions, AVP positions, stream reps, year reps, social media coordinators and design coordinators.

Check our LinkTree for the application form. A reminder that you need 10 student endorsements and 1 faculty endorsement as part of your application. The form will close November 20th so get your applications in!
